The information we collect
The information we collect from you when you visit the website does not personally identify you to us. For example, we automatically track information such as your Internet Service Provider, shortened IP address, your browser version, and your operating system. We use this information to monitor website performance, utilisation of features and services, traffic and demographic trends, and browser versions, to improve our website and services and tailor them to your interests. We do this by using cookies. Although the information we gather through our cookies remains anonymous so we cannot tell who you are. We’ll store all the information you submit as part of your application. And, in the course of the recruitment process, we might record further information about you. We collect and process sensitive personal data only so far as is necessary to ensure we comply with legal requirements, for example under the equality of opportunity laws.
What will you use my information for?
Your information will be used to help us determine how suitable you are for employment by Ocado. We might also use it for statistical analysis – for diversity monitoring, or to assess the success of our advertising campaigns, for example. And any information you submit as part of your application may be verified. This could mean we check your qualifications, or that we’ll contact your referees. But we won’t do this, or contact your current employer, without your permission. We will seek your consent before using your information for any purpose not listed in this Privacy Statement.
What we collect and why
Here at Ocado, we understand the concern you may have around the protection of your personal information as you progress through our application, selection and assessment process and we are fully committed to protecting the personal information you provide to us throughout the recruitment process. As part of the online application process you will be providing personal information as defined as information that relates to an identifiable individual, examples of which will be name, email address, address and employment history. This information may be used in connection to the role you have applied for or to contact you in the future about other positions within Ocado that may match your skills and experience.
Ocado has contracted with a trusted third party provider to manage its online employment application process. Ocado ‘s third party provider has agreed to comply with all regulations designed to protect your privacy. It will only use candidate information to process Ocado employment applications and not for its own purposes. It will not disclose any personally identifiable information to any third party. During the recruitment process, candidate information will be accessed internally only by those Ocado employees who are directly involved in the recruitment process.
We will retain your information for a minimum of 6 months from your last update, unless otherwise required by law. If you are hired by Ocado, the personal information you have submitted will be retained as part of your employment record.
